About your doula

Your voice, your choices, your birth.

Hi, I'm Emma McNiven — a certified birth doula and an advocate at heart. I believe every birthing person deserves to feel informed, respected, and heard, no matter how or where they give birth. That's why I support families through hospital births, home births, birth center births, medicated and unmedicated labors, planned cesareans, and everything in between.

My role isn't to make choices for you — it's to make sure your voice stays at the center of every decision, and that you always understand your options well enough to choose what's right for you.

Let's talk about what's possible
How it works

From first hello to fourth trimester.

01

Free consult

We talk through your due date, hopes for birth, and whether we're a good fit — no pressure, just a conversation.

02

Build your plan

Prenatal visits to map out your preferences, pain-coping options, and what support looks like for your household.

03

Ongoing care

Support through labor and beyond, with a follow-up visit to check in on recovery, feeding, and how you're really doing.

On postpartum care

You are not meant to do this alone.

Birth gets the spotlight, but the weeks and months after are where so many families quietly struggle — healing bodies, learning a new baby, and trying to remember to eat and sleep, often with little support beyond a single follow-up appointment.

Postpartum care isn't a luxury add-on. It's built around what you actually need, whether that's someone to hold the baby while you shower, a steady presence while you learn to breastfeed, or simply company on a hard day. For most of human history, new parents were surrounded by people who helped carry the load. You deserve that same kind of care now.
